USGA and R&A Rules of Golf 2012-2015 are always in effect
Section A – Conditions of Competition

In case of lightning we ask you all to use common sense: Leave course or find shelter nearby.
Result of Competition (Rule 6-8b): Competition is closed when prize ceremony is closed.

Section B- Local Rules
Water Hazards (Rule 26):

Water hazards are defined by yellow markers. Lateral water hazards are defined by red markers. Where there are Dropping Zones (DZ) for water hazards, a ball may be played under rule 26, or a ball may be dropped in the nearest DZ. The ball must strike inside DZ and shall only be re-dropped if it rolls more than 2 club lengths in any direction, even if it rests outside DZ and closer to hole.

Embedded Ball.(Rule 25):

A ball which is stuck in its own pitch mark in the ground through the green may be lifted and dropped without penalty except when the ball resides out of bounds or within a hazard.

Staked trees (Rule 24):

Relief from all staked trees (rule 24-2b). Where an immovable obstruction interferes with a players stance or area of intended swing, a ball may be dropped within 1 club length from the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty.

Ground Under Repair (GUR) (Rule 25):

Holes made for tree plantations are GUR.

Distance measuring devices (note under Rule 14-3):

For Competitions a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during play a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3,
for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is
actually used.

SGC Local Rule 2013 -1:

“Harrell Rule” – Long Drive: Our long drive winner is decided by the longest drive as measured from the tee box. It is not determined by closest to the hole.

SGC Local Rule 2014-1:

During Major competions (Chairman’s Cup, Monthly Medal, Club Championship, Ryder Cup, Tour Championship, Medal Championship) players must place their ball on the green, caddies may mark the ball, but players replace it!

Penalty for breach of any Local Rules: Match Play – Loss of hole. Stroke play – Two Strokes.

Note: Local Rules are normally stated by the course we play. Above SGC Local Rules are in
additions.

Please be informed about Local Rules on actual Golf course about following: Out Of Bonds, Areas of environmental sensitive areas, GUR, DZ etc.

Temporary Local Rules:

Look out for TLR prior to start, such as preferred lies or other winter rules.
